| IFC to Invest €25M in Green for Growth Fund Southeast Europe | IFC, a member of the World Bank Group , will invest up to €25 million in the Green for Growth Fund Southeast Europe to stimulate financing of sustainable energy projects within the region. The fund will have a significant developmental impact in promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy and expanding lending to households, small and medium enterprises, renewable energy projects, energy service companies, and municipalities. Its investments initially are targeted to Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, FYR Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Turkey. | |
| EBRD Adopts New Strategy for Croatia | The EBRD Board has adopted a new strategy for Croatia, which is designed to support the country’s further development and the anticipated EU accession by addressing the key needs of the Croatian economy. The Bank will promote energy efficiency projects in the economy with a particular focus to the corporate sectors. The EBRD will help businesses to raise their environmental standards and will encourage foreign direct investment via risk sharing tools. A special focus will be offered to supporting investments in tourism and the development of agribusiness.

| Sustainable Forest Management Providing Renewable Energy, Sustainable Construction and Bio-based Products' (ROKFOR) Cluster | Europe's research driven clusters in sustainable forest management and wood based industries got new co-operation opportunities within the ROKFOR project which started 23 February 2010.
This cooperative action project ‘Sustainable Forest Management Providing Renewable Energy, Sustainable Construction and Bio-based Products' (ROKFOR) will join forces in which five European regions in order to create both individual and regional research agendas and action plans in the fields of renewable energy, bio-based products and sustainable construction.
The regions involved are Baden-Württemberg in Germany, Aquitaine in France, Basque country in Spain, Catalonia in Spain, North Karelia in Finland, as well as Croatia and Serbia. The three-year project is based on each region's current strengths in the forest sector. The project also aims to strengthen and promote competitiveness within the forest sectors without jeopardizing sustainability. | |

| Report From Moscow Energy Trade Fair | Even though the effects of the global financial and economic crisis have affected the Russian construction industry significantly, interest in innovative building and energy technology was unabated at SHK MOSCOW 2009, 13th International Industrial and Technology Trade Fair for Heating, Air Conditioning, Ventilation, Refrigeration, Building Automation, Sanitation and Renewable Energies. A total of 11,300 trade visitors from the CIS and neighboring countries attended Russia’s leading event for this industry and 200 exhibitors from 19 countries showcased their products on 107,600 square feet of exhibit space.
